Structural fire protection forms the basis of sound fire protection and is regulated primarily by the construction rules issued by the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning.
Rules and regulations applicable to the design of fire protection in buildings are also found in the Swedish Protection Against Accidents Act, the Swedish Flammable and Explosive Goods Act as well as labour law legislation.
The laws which regulate fire protection are often focused on protecting persons, i.e. so that, in the event of a fire, people can evacuate the building without being injured. However, if you also want to protect your property or your building from a fire, it is up to you to act accordingly.
