Independent proof of competence
“In many protective security roles, the requirements are high and the consequences of shortcomings can be significant. With this certification, we make it possible to have competence and experience assessed by an independent third party, thereby strengthening confidence among employers, clients and other stakeholders,” says Mårten Wallén, CEO of SBSC.
The certification is intended for roles with responsibilities in areas such as protective security, information security, physical security, security vetting and communications security. It is based on defined requirements for education, documented professional experience and verified knowledge, as well as follow-up during the validity period of the certificate.
The certification has been developed by Knowit, Týr Cyber Defense and Säkerhetsskyddsupplysning i Sverige in collaboration with SBSC.
In connection with the launch, SBSC has certified its first experts in the field: Kim Hakkarainen (Týr Cyber Defense), and Marie Sjöberg and Victor Langåssve (Knowit).
According to SBSC, the certification is intended to provide independent verification of competence and experience in a field where requirements are high and where shortcomings can have serious consequences.
The launch is part of a broader work to develop certifications related to protective security. SBSC is also preparing certification of protective security management systems for public authorities and companies engaged in security-sensitive activities.
