Secure storage

Valuables, weapons and classified documents should be stored in secure storage units. An overall description of the various types of available secure storage solutions is presented here.

Security cabinet in accordance with SSF 3492*

Security cabinets are suitable for weapons and classified documents. Weapons storage is regulated by the Swedish Weapons Act and the regulations issued by the Swedish Police Authority.

According to applicable rules, security cabinets are classified in accordance with the SSF 3492 standard, a basic requirement for weapons storage. These security cabinets are also approved for the storage of tobacco, but do not protect against fires.

* SSF 3492 was formerly designated SS 3492.

Safes in accordance with EN 1143-1

Safes are intended for the storage of valuables and documents. The various types are classified in accordance with their burglar-resistant characteristics and, in certain cases, may also be classified as fire-resistant. The classes are graded on a scale of 0–XIII, and the grading determines which overall value the items stored in the safe may have.
