Accepted testing laboratories

SBSC accepts test reports from a defined set of laboratories for specific product types and standards. See the matrix for details and notes on report date validity.

What is an “accepted testing laboratory” at SBSC?

An accepted testing laboratory is a test house whose reports SBSC accepts as part of the certification process—provided the tests cover the correct product type, standard, and any date conditions listed in the matrix.

Which laboratories are accepted today?

According to the current list, the following laboratories (A–K) are accepted:
A – RISE (Sweden) • B – VdS (Germany) • C – CNPP (France) • D – BRE (England) • E – PIV (Germany) • F – Kiwa Fire Safety & Security (Netherlands) • G – Applica (Norway) • H – ALTER TECHNOLOGY TÜV NORD (Spain) • I – Eurofins Expert Services Oy (Finland) • J – LTB (Poland) • K – Holzforschung Austria (Austria). See the full table on page 2 of Accepted Testing Laboratories.

What product areas and standards are covered?

The matrix specifies accepted labs per product area, product type and standard, including for example:

  • Secure storage units: EN 1143-1, EN 1143-2, EN 14450, EN 1300

  • Building hardware: EN 12320, EN 1303, EN 15684, EN 12209, EN 14846, EN 179, EN 1125, EN 1935

  • Building elements: EN 1627; Burglar-protective walls: SSF 1047

  • Vehicle security: SSF 011, SSF 701, SSF 026, SSF 1057

  • Intruder alarm systems: SSF 1014, SSF 114
Refer to the table for which lab(s) apply to each area.

Are there report date limitations I should know about?

Yes. Certain acceptances apply only to reports issued on/after specific dates (noted 1–7 in the table). Current thresholds are:

  1. 2018-07-05 • 2) 2020-02-04 • 3) 2022-05-24 • 4) 2022-10-12 • 5) 2025-02-07 • 6) 2025-02-07 • 7) 2025-02-10. Check the corresponding note number on each table row.

How do I use the list when preparing for certification?

  1. Identify your product type and standard (e.g., EN 1627 doors).

  2. In the matrix, confirm which lab(s) are accepted for that line.

  3. Ensure your test report date meets any note-based thresholds.

  4. Submit the test report with your application to SBSC.

What about EFSG or EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR)?

For product types/specifications outside the matrix (including EFSG and CPR), contact SBSC to confirm acceptance.
