Certego certified to both ISO 27001 and SSF 1101

SBSC has certified Certego to ISO 27001 (information security management systems) and to SSF 1101 Cybersecurity BASIC. This combination of certifications demonstrates both a systematic approach to protecting information and a defined baseline level of cybersecurity, based on independent assessment against established requirements.

Certego takes the next step in information and cybersecurity with dual certification

Certego has been certified to ISO 27001 for its information security management system and has simultaneously achieved certification to SSF 1101 Cybersecurity BASIC.

“Certego shows how companies can combine systematic information security work with a clear baseline level of cybersecurity by becoming certified to both ISO 27001 and SSF 1101. This strengthens security for their customers and raises the level of ambition across the security industry as a whole. For us at SBSC, it is very positive to contribute through a thorough and accredited audit of their work,” says Mårten Wallén, CEO of SBSC.

The certifications mark an important step in Certego’s long-term efforts to strengthen information and cybersecurity—both internally and towards customers.

The initiative is driven by an evolving threat landscape and by customers increasingly wanting to know how their information is handled. For Certego, the certifications became a way to both meet customer expectations and establish a clearer internal framework for information and cybersecurity.

The threat landscape is constantly changing, and our customers are very interested in how we manage their information. ISO 27001 provides us with a systematic approach and continuous improvement, while SSF 1101 clearly specifies a baseline level of cybersecurity that many of our customers recognize. Together, the certifications provide strong added value for both Certego and our customers.

Stricter routines and increased understanding across the organization

As part of the certification work, Certego reviewed and revised existing ways of working and routines. Much was already in place, but the process acted as a catalyst to tighten structures, improve protection, and increase understanding of information and cybersecurity throughout the organization. The project has also provided a better overall picture of how different parts of the business affect security.

A defined baseline level of cybersecurity aligned with SSF 1101

From a cybersecurity perspective, Certego’s Security Manager, Klas Nilsson, highlights the value of SSF 1101 as a recognizable complement to ISO 27001.

“We have customers who specifically value SSF 1101 Cybersecurity BASIC. Thanks to the work we did with ISO 27001, it was relatively easy to meet the requirements of SSF 1101. For us, the standard serves as clear proof that we meet a basic level of cybersecurity that many of our customers demand and feel confident in,” says Klas Nilsson, Security Manager at Certego.

For many years, Certego has engaged SBSC as its certification body within the security area. The experience of thorough audits and an established reputation in the industry were also important factors in this project.

“SBSC has long been our natural choice as a certification body. They have a strong reputation in the security industry, and their thorough audits have helped us develop and become even better,” says Klas Nilsson.

SBSC’s certifications to ISO/IEC 27001 and SSF 1101 are based on independent audits assessing an organization’s ability to identify, manage, and improve its information and cybersecurity against established requirements.
